Optional Events

Snowflake Benefit Pageant Trophy

Optional competitions are not required to win a royalty title.  They are just a fun way to have more stage time, experience a greater variety of competition and raise more money for the Oregon Food Bank.  You may sign up for as many events as you like using our online Registration Form.

Premium Optionals

Talent Optional Competition (ages 6+)
Trophies will be awarded for 1 Junior (ages 6-12) and 1 Senior (ages 13+) overall talent winners. Depending on the number of entries received, there might also be a medal awarded in each age division. This is an optional competition and does not count towards a contestant's overall score.  Each contestant will have 2 minutes to present their talent.  Please keep costumes age appropriate and limit the amount of props used.  If you cannot set up on stage in less than 30 seconds, then we will have to ask you to leave props behind. We also request that all Talent music be submitted via our online form at least 1 week before the pageant so our sound person can make sure things run smoothly and on time.

Snowflake Benefit Pageant Casual Wear Samples

Casual Wear Optional Competition (ages 6+)
Trophies will be awarded for 1 Junior (ages 6-12) and 1 Senior (ages 13+) overall Casual Wear winner. Depending on the number of entries received, there might also be a medal awarded in each age division. This is an optional competition and does not count towards a contestant's overall score.  Each contestant will have 30 seconds to model their casual wear outfit.  Contestants may create their own routine or use the X's on stage. Only props that can be carried and are part of the outfit (eg. umbrella, golf club, purse, etc.) can be used during the casual wear presentation.

Contestants who register for Talent and/or Casual Wear will receive special rhinestone pins at check-in.

Photogenic Optional Competition (ages 4+)
Trophies will be awarded for 1 Kinder (ages 4-5), 1 Junior (ages 6-12) and 1 Senior (ages 13+) overall optional photogenic winner.  Depending on the number of entries received, there might also be a medal awarded in each age division.  For ages 4 and older, this is an optional competition and does not count towards a contestant's overall score.  For the Baby division, it is a required area of competition.  Photos will be judged using a combination of composition, background, lighting, and contestant's poise and personality. For older contestants, hair, makeup, wardrobe, and accessories must all harmonize with each other.  Because Snowflake Pageant is a natural pageant, contestants in younger divisions (12 and under) must not have any makeup or noticeable retouching.  Contestants in older divisions are also encouraged to submit more natural photos as well.  Glamour shots like those used in glitz pageants will not score well in Snowflake Photogenic.  Please keep photos 8x10 or smaller and bring prints with you to check-in on pageant day.  You may enter Photogenic as many times as you like.
